L> Appeal from Finla...Ohh yahh forgot, Finland is probably preparing their own SOPA already, they already forced a server provider to block access to pirate bay. Stupid pineapples EDIT: Also, Damn that house is nice, it would a shame if anything happened to it SSSSSSSS. Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds - FoolsLove - 2012-01-23 FileSonic and FileServe have both disabled their file sharing capabilities, and Uploaded.to has shut off service to the USA. These were done on their own accord, preventative measures, but it'll do nothing but destroy their sites really. We should see what/if Mediafire and Rapidshare do pretty soon. Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds - Alex123123 - 2012-01-23 Wow. I only thought upload sites were going to become more aggressive hunting down copyright content, but seeing those two disable their file sharing services altogether? Kinda unexpected. Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds - Fiel - 2012-01-23 Nope. The problem here is that RIAA and MPAA don't want to police the internet for their own content. They want OTHER people (ISPs, Government) to police their content for them so they're not burdened with the cost. What you're now seeing is the result. Believe it or not, the MPAA and RIAA don't like the DMCA anymore. They feel it's too burdensome on copyright holders. Megaupload "Shut Down" by the feds - Kunagisa - 2012-01-23 Alex123123 Wrote:Wow. But that's what's funny: they have. And Megaupload did its part in regulating user content posted on the site and were even planning on launching a digital download service I believe (one where music artists would actually receive a large portion of the profits). Actually I think the music company would get the money first, then give it to the artists. "They are in denial about the new realities and opportunities. They don't understand that the rip-off days are over. Artists are more educated than ever about how they are getting ripped off and how the big labels only look after themselves."
