This is nexon's attempt to remedy two key issues.
One issue was that people wanted sets that can rival the other sets but were easier to get for the people who were not funded. They solved this by making what it seems the boss relatively easy to kill for a decently funded character.
The second issue is that people complained why should they bother upgrading to newer sets when they spent so much money scrolling and potentialing the older sets. Nexon respnoded to this by letting us use our previous potential rank tier and stats to the new sets so people don't feel so cheated.

I'm still confused on one thing, how do the stats get carried over?
Does it replace the Sweetwater's base stats or is it used like some kind of scroll?

Anything we say right now is just speculation.
My opinion is that the stats that you get from scrolls carry over to the new set, thus effectively using the slot sof the new set.

I think it'll just take whatever is on the +stats and transfer them over to the sweetwater item, taking account number of used slots and number of times hammered as well, keeping potential tier(not lines) and enhancement stars -1

This is the one thing I am waiting to get the definitive answer for before I do any upgrading. I'd hate to lose the nebs. Of course, maybe they added a way to keep them and that could be the cause of the delay of the release of Commerci? Ya never know.

Honestly i doubt it. Everyone suddenly needing nebs would be devastating to the neb market though so i hope it sticks.

I'm guessing it'll just take the amount of attack added from base (maybe number of scrolls passed too? so if you've passed 9 and the sweetwater has 10, you'll have 1 remaining), but no one knows yet =x
I'm also fairly certain it will wipe the nebulite
still waiting for a better nebulite diffuser CS item that lets you keep the neb after reopening the socket

I would rather have a second neb slot. :/ It would have to be balanced though, as in you can't have two of the same rank neb on an single item.

if we ever got S rank nebs I'd rather this not ever happen. 10% extra stat per equip slot is just too broken.

They abstained from adding MEEs when they added some of the Hephaestus Challenge stuff during Unlimited. The fact that they added them now indicates either we're getting it, or they just got tired of constantly excluding it (like flames, maybe). Additionally, they also translated the quests, which they definitely didn't have to do, but they also didn't change the event dates. Still, I'd say there's pretty strong evidence either way.

So basically there's strong evidence that Nexon will basically destroy the game balance even furthre even though they keep saying they are trying to preserve it by excluding effects like additional options.
Or this could just be an elaborate prank by nexon just to freak the hell out of all of us here. Pretty safe to assume they know we go through whatever data they have, and maybe they like seeing us get into a wild frenzy.

You know I'm just saying and is probably just my pessimism right now, but doesn't it feel like they keep taking parts away from our RED update that would fundamentlly help everyone...
Granted commerci we never really found out mch on upgrading, and root abyss only really helps the extremely underfundd with it's equips and pots, but the auction house seemed like a great addition overall =/
Like I said it could just be pessimism right nw just because all I see from this update is zero zero zero, and nothing else [and I honestly don't want to play zero but I'll be forced to if I want to participate in any of the events he has]

Sadly I can't even deny that is a high possibility and the most reasonable one...
It's kinda sad when you have this much of lack of faith in a company yet still play their game >_<
