Shidoshi Wrote:Dual wielding also gives you a 15% attack speed bonus.

I'm not 100% on that. Depends on the class maybe? I know that DW doesn't affect attack speed. Using a quiver however does. If my second weapon has attack speed my stats will change to conform with that weapon when I attack with it. In restrospect I think DW is good for some classes, but not good for others like myself. I benefit tons more from a quiver.

Dual Wield gives 15% IAS for Barbs at least. I have no idea about any other class.

Diablo3 class thread - JoeTang - 2012-06-08

It's pretty easy to tell you get 15% attack speed from dual wielding. Just compare the attack speed of one hand crossbow to two. The attack speed of both weapons will be increased, but the attack speed on the main weapon does not affect the off-hand and vice-versa. It's just that quivers already come with attack speed that can be higher than 15%, and attack speed outweighs mainstat by quite a bit, you would need two extremely high dex crossbows to be worth dual wielding.

Attack speed factors in as damage as well, that's how you can tell without going into detail. DW for Demon Hunter on two bows that both give attack speed won't stack, the quiver addition does however. DW for Demon Hunters is just silly, even if it is Danetta's Rage and Fury, which suck.

probably because you actually alternate between the two crossbows when you're attacking. Like Joe said, you'd need a pomegranate ton of dex on the secondary hand CB for it to even be partially worthwhile. Dual-wielding overall needs some tweaking, because at the moment, it really isn't all that worth it even with the 15% IAS.

And Blizzard even said they were debating nerfing IAS, by either lowering the values globally, or giving diminishing returns. They're leaning toward the former.

Danetta's is terrible, like every other Legendary weapon. They have no base IAS, and only Fury has base dex, which is caps at a shitty 149, and another 130 from the set bonus. Given that the highest IAS on a rare quiver is apparently 15% (20% on Dead Man's Legacy), and the highest dex I can find is ~175 + 56 from a Radiant Star, it's quite possible to have a DW better than 1H + Quiver since you can roll over 300 dex on hand crossbows and 200% critical hit damage with sockets.

The one thing to keep in mind with IAS and Crit rates is that DH work like NL's pretty much, if your base damage overall is low and are only achieving a high damage on the stat screen from crit damage, then you better be stacking crit rate or else you're pretty much crap in terms of DPS. That's why lately I've been trying to stack IAS, Crit chance and Dex. I'll work on crit damage once I go for my end game weapon. My 1154 is doing the job for now.

Royal Crypts and A3 Tyrael just got nerfed on EU.

The maximum gold gain dropped to ~2k per run in the Crypts.
A3 Tyrael went from hitting for 40k to 1.6k.
People are also reporting that a few "powerleveling" mechanics were nerfed as well.

Expect the same on NA very soon.

And people will continue to find loopholes in the game and Blizzard will keep right on fixing them.

I wish Legendary items were actually good. He's better off using a 1k DPS 1h Wand. They're really cheap too. And yea I read about the nerf at the Royal Crypts. It's pretty stupid because the only way to make gold farming in the royal crypts possible is with high gold find gear on. Eventually there really won't be a way to make your own funds without it taking eons.

if i could get hold of 2 1h xbows with discipline, hatred regen, and like similar/less dps to my current weapon (1086) i would switch. sockets or not, dex or not. nether tentacle and smokescreen too good when you have 50 or 60 disc and 9 or 10 hatred regen.

Sigh, thats twice now that i've attempted the crumbling vault timed dungeon and failed about 2 seconds away from the goal.

Diablo3 class thread - Shidoshi - 2012-06-09

Slowly giving up on my Wizard, maybe I'll come back to it some other time with a different build approach. Right now it feels like every time I see a pack with fast/vortex in Hell I just die inevitably. And this is only Act 2 =P
Fake difficulty ahoy, I'll take gear block on a barb any day over this chicken approach. Gearing for frost nova/diamond skin with Critical Mass might be fun, but I'd need some gearing.

Diablo3 class thread - Dark Link - 2012-06-09

If you go the CM route, you're going to need a lot of "Crit Rate" and "Life Regen" gear

How hard is it to get good gold find gear? People were spending ~50k to get 200%, set up a bot and you're suddenly 300k per hour x 100. Better to nerf it for everyone than let the 10000 rampant gold farmers ruin the economy.
