Your dad changed your diapers and has repeatedly seen you make a complete ass out of yourself. Your dad also survived all stages of puberty, and he knows what mistakes he made while doing it so he can tell you so as you can avoid making them yourself.

Your peers on the other hand may seize on any opportunity to make fun of you or pull your leg. Except when the questions are about your penis, you probably don't want people to laugh at you cause it's embarrassing as hell.
