So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Dagger - 2008-07-04 I've gotten an infighter at level 10 with almost perfect stats (4/5, I might try again soon) And I've collected a bunch of EQ items, still going at it. Looking through this thread makes me feel inferior since I have no money to fund the character as much as some of you. >_> So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Cactuar - 2008-07-04 Opeth Wrote:Eh, I'm not too keen on going past level 10 for one reason: They lose about 8, unless pirates themselves get more HP per level-up than Bowmen or thieves. It just takes time and dedication. Look at me, my main was a FP arch mage with 2-5mil at most! Don't try again with because of 4/5...I wasted hours and I dont think it's really worth the 1 AP. Then again, it isnt hard, especially now, to get to level 10. I redid my character 3 times because that hair quest screwed me over. In the end...I'm still screwed over. LOOK!!

Which would add up to about 150 HP lost. So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Eldin - 2008-07-04 My pirate-to-be is at level 29, with 1 exp standing between him and 30. The HP issue bugged me at first, but I've only lost about 4.5 levels worth - important for HT and such, maybe, but by the time I get up to that level I'll be HP washed anyways. Other than leveling, though, I haven't done too much, 'cos I'm poor... got rid of my main and sold his stuff, got an attack blue WG, planned a cash shop look, and I'm training up a new cleric to get a Spiegelmann Necklace and some extra meso. According to your signature you're already 100% :p So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Bribery - 2008-07-04 I don't see why people are training beginners to level 30 just to be one of the top Pirates. The HP lost is invaluable, especially if you're making a Gunslinger. It takes a lot of HP washing to get 150 HP. I'd rather stop at level 10 and wait. First job will be fun since it's a completely different class. Perhaps when MS got rid of 99.99% (WHY DID YOU DOOOOO THAT MS) the sig compensated by going to 100% at that highest percent :3 So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Dagger - 2008-07-04 Bribery Wrote:I don't see why people are training beginners to level 30 just to be one of the top Pirates. Yeah, that's why I stay level 10 99.98% and don't want to get too many EQ items, because I want to be able to experience the skills before I get to 2nd job. So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Daakun - 2008-07-05 Nothing much, really. I plan on moving to Yellonde in the event we get a new server with Pirates, so I figure it wouldn't make much sense to invest in lots of stuff for my Kradian pirate-to-be. I've been gathering nx via MTS to afford equips no matter which server I'm on, though. :3 So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Deity - 2008-07-05 I've currently got a level 15 beginner with infighter stats. I plan on getting it to 29 w/99% before Pirates are out, so I can advance to first, then 2nd job instantly. For those who aren't aware and might say something, if you advance to 1st job after level 10 you still get your SP. I've done it myself on a test beginner, and it works. The only real drawback is the loss of HP, which someone on these board (cant think of names atm) has mentioned is around 150HP, which is a hefty amount. I plan on HP washing to make up for it. I've got some friends who will most likely CPQ with me (rigged, on 2x) to get to 51 incredibly fast (possibly the first day Pirates are out). After that, its just good, old-fashioned grinding. As for the funding, I haven't done anything yet to equip it except trade my 13 att SCG and 10m for a 13 att BWG. I plan on selling my luk sauna, earrings, attack shield, and dagger to get some good dex gear and a zhelm. Currently I'm debating over whether or not I want to scroll my FS or sell them and hunt for some 12 dex YSS...I'm looking at getting a 25 dex robe and 10-11 dex earrings. I'd sell my stuff now, but I wouldn't have anything to do on Maple until Pirates are out if I did...also there's the chance that I'd decide to go back to my CB, so I'm not real sure on what I want to do just yet. So just how far have you gone to prepare for the release of Pirates? - Saver - 2008-07-05 ...I prepared without planning or thinking of preparing. I have a level 5x beginner with minimum dex and the rest of str, which could advance to become some pirate class. I won't really play it much, but it'll be nice to say I did. |
