Why would it be weak? 650 base attack with Amp, almost strong as maxed Gen without an Ele wand 1, a hell of a lot stronger with, and 11x Cygnus mages have the magic of 13x Adventurers. Because thats what i got from Isaac's thread on Cygnus skill tables Flame Wizard Build - Russt - 2009-06-05 Dusk Wrote:Why would it be weak? 650 base attack with Amp, almost strong as maxed Gen without an Ele wand 1, a hell of a lot stronger with, and 11x Cygnus mages have the magic of 13x Adventurers. He was replying to the post saying to skip Amp. It's really only 10 levels anyway, so it's not a big deal either way. If anything I would get Amp just to boost Fire Strike. Flame Wizard Build - BTMachinez - 2009-07-11 never made a mage past lvl 40 so i wanna make a flame wizard. Looking over the skills I was wondering why Element Removal isn't in the builds discussion much as it seems it would be useful for the tough time temple mobs and other situations. Although those mobs are considerably tough for a lvl 120 but still. Does it just suck or does it just come down to having better options than this? Elemental Reset is very good, and that's probably why people aren't discussing it. It's just so good an option that there's nothing to discuss. Flame Wizard Build - JaredTheUnseen - 2009-07-15 An idea from the alternate build you have for third job. It's pretty much the same: Max Curtain, then max Amp, then do 20 Strike...you get the idea, just swap wherever it says Curtain for Strike. That way you have max Meteo at 110 and have max Amp and Curtain until then. Flame Wizard Build - Dusk - 2009-07-15 JaredTheUnseen Wrote:An idea from the alternate build you have for third job. You can get Amp maxed after Strike in mid-9x. Instead of saving all the way for Ifrit I'm going to max Amp in mid-9x and only start saving points for Ifrit after Curtain, Strike, and Amp are all maxed. I don't think Ifrit is so great it deserves saving 20 points for instead of maxing Amp. Flame Wizard Build - Amphigory - 2009-07-15 Is 20 Curtain really worth it in the Strike build? 20 Seal would let you train at a lot of places more cheaply, especially if you went to newties at 110. We're not like FPs, we don't have Elquines to freeze that newtie right next to us, and if we lag spike we're gone without seal >.> How exactly will 20 Curtain be used? Curtaining the map to deal some extra damage while Striking away? Sounds expensive. /Poor person worried about training costs and death EDIT: Sorta like what Cyanne said, the build seems a little off. My proposed build is: 1 Pillar (to kill 6 mobs with and snipe, mostly for fun) 1 Tele, 2 Pillar Max Pillar 11 Spell Booster Max Tele Then going on from there, maxing booster at the end. Booster reaches its max speed boost at 11, right? Why max Booster before a skill that will become cheaper and more effective when it's leveled when you're only adding time to the timer and taking off a little bit of cost going with more booster. It's similar to what F/P Mages follow, I think. 30 Fire Curtain 01 Fire Strike 20 Seal 29 Fire Strike 20 Elemental Amplification 20 Meteor Shower 20 Ifrit 11 Resistance I left Ifrit till later because I don't think I'll be too useful for training. Curtain will be the main training skill until Meteor Shower. I may not get THAT much Seal early on, but other skills aren't as useful imo. Flame Wizard Build - xLeviathan - 2009-07-31 Someone convince me to put SP into Slow. I've already left Booster at 11 and don't want Fire Arrow, but to leave Fire Arrow AND Slow at 0 or a low level...bah. I'm gonna have a lot of extra points. I don't have foresight, I don't see any of these 2nd job skills being useful except Fire Pillar, Elemental Reset, Teleport, some Booster, and Meditation. That leaves me with like 40 skills points. Um what's your dilemma? You can max Booster and Slow with those points and have 1 left with Fire Arrow. That's the commonly accepted build. You don't have to use Slow, and the only other options are Fire Arrow or Magic Guard. Flame Wizard Build - xLeviathan - 2009-07-31 Dusk Wrote:Um what's your dilemma? Slow's not that bad, it can save pots while Curtaining and it works on bosses. Have you seriously never put points into a semi-useless skill before, though? On my Corsair I didn't like putting points into Grenade since it didn't do anything, but I didn't have anything better to put points in, so why not? I did that with my Gunslinger. :3 No, I have, but it just feels like there's too many useless ones! I'm fine with just Fire Pillar and Max Medi. if you ask me. Mobbing at Alcando labs = Win? Flame Wizard Build - Kaasoljoyyx - 2009-07-31 I dropped medi and maxed slow/arrow. Max booster was a must after having 11 on my fp. |
