Level 143 Corsair Soloed Zakum - Bri - 2009-04-11

I just did this yesterday and I am still unaware if I'm the first.
I posted this on SW's website in the Khaini Section.
Time was just under 15 apples (so around 2.5 hours).

You're the first Corsair to solo that's provided any evidence afaik.
And I think we're allowed to mention "them" by name here; just not here, there.
And how many pots, exactly, were burned?
Time seems significantly lower than other zakum soloes of ranged classes.
Also earlier solo than most ranged classes.

I would assume all the power elixers, honsters, and most of the ginger ales, since she had 1k honsters halfway through 3rd body.

...If you've killed Latanica as a Corsair you'll know why that's an extremely stupid idea. Corsairs thrive on getting surrounded by boss summons. Boss summons do low damage and miss often compared to the boss itself. When I solo Latanica I typically use about 4 Ice Creams in the first 6-10 seconds of the fight, followed by about 15 White Pots once he begins summoning (just in case I get hit with an actual blast from Latanica I want to have the HP to survive it). All you have to do is hold the button and make sure you're tanking summon damage.
Also, Rapid Fire is a crappy skill and you should avoid breaking your ship.

It's not that simple. Since a Corsair's Battleship breaks by taking too much damage, it's advisable to get hit by little things so it takes as long as possible to break. Also, since there's Homing a Corsair can sit in a sea of mobs and not worry about not hitting the target.

amazing you were able to solo zak in 2.5 hours. I know quite a few warriors who are a higher level and it takes them at least that if not more. I was going to try to contact you in game to find out the details, but this definitely works too.

Jeeze. My 152 solo took exactly 3 hours. This is really fast! Must be nice not having to deal with summons or 1/1 or seal.
Oh, out of curiosity, how did you recast Homing on Zak after each body died? It doesn't look like you have any room to do that without killing all the summons.

As pointed out, I used the summons to avoid the 1/1's, the seals, and the stuns (which I was most afraid of). I'd rather take the ~300 damage every 2 secs or so than getting hit by his magic attacks. Of course I dismounted during the weapon defs to save my ship, unless it was blinking in which I just destroyed it on purpose.
I would say my ship broke ~20 times, this occurred a lot more during the arms stage. I got the timing of dismounting/remounting when there were 2 arms left.
You do have to recast bullseye for each body, so I used torpedo to clear out enough mobs so I could hit him with it.

Battleship 1
Cannon 30
Torpedo 1
Bullseye 20
Rapid Fire 9
Maple Warrior 10 (7 during the run) - Passed a Legit MW 20 so maxing this now.
Octo, Air Strike, Hypnotize 1
As Dr. Rusty Pointed out, you could call this a Bossing Build.

Did you consider wearing your HT pendant instead of your MoN for the extra defense? You would have taken nearly nothing from the summons then and your ship would have pretty much never broken (during the bodies). Also, consider bringing in pain relievers for the next run to use during the bodies.

I never actually considered wearing my HT pendant, but that's probably a good idea.
With def buff pots (pain relievers, etc), the def gets canceled by the ship's natural def buff.
